Driver age requirements
Minimum age requirements apply by vehicle group: 21 for economy, 25 for midsize and van groups, and 30+ for premium and luxury groups.
- Economy group: age 21+ (Renault Clio, Opel Corsa, Peugeot 208, etc.)
- Midsize group: age 25+ (Renault Megane, Opel Astra, Toyota Corolla, Fiat Egea, etc.)
- Van group: age 25+ (Peugeot Traveller, Mercedes Vito, etc.)
- Premium group: age 30+ (MB C-Class, BMW 3 Series, etc.)
- Luxury group: age 30+ (MB E-Class, BMW 5 Series, Volvo XC90, etc.)
Credit card, deposit, and financial checks
Renters must present a credit card issued in their own name and enabled for online use. A pre-authorization is taken by vehicle group: TRY 4,000 for economy, TRY 4,500 for midsize, TRY 5,000 for premium/van, and TRY 6,000 for special luxury. The hold is released with the bank after 10 business days from rental end. Pre-authorization is not a sale.
For safer rentals and risk reduction, customers who have not rented in the last 6 months may be asked for a financial check via findeks.com (KKB). Requests that do not meet the criteria may be refused at handover even if reserved; any payment already taken is refunded.
If the report is not shared, only Economy vehicles may be considered, subject to separate TRY 15,000 pre-authorizations from three personal credit cards at different banks. Otherwise handover may be refused and payments refunded.
Licence tenure
Minimum licence tenure is 2 years for economy, 3 years for midsize, and 5 years for premium/luxury. Non-Turkish citizens must carry a passport and proof of entry within the last 6 months. Foreign licence holders residing in Türkiye longer than 6 months must present a new Turkish licence.
Even if the licence is digitally linked to the national ID, the physical original licence must be presented; otherwise the vehicle cannot be handed over.
- Economy: at least 2 years of licence tenure
- Midsize: at least 3 years of licence tenure
- Premium and luxury: at least 5 years of licence tenure
Prepaid reservation terms
The credit-card holder used for payment must be the same person collecting the vehicle; the card may need to be shown at the office.
- Cancellations more than 1 hour before pickup are free of charge; refunds are processed within 7 business days.
- Cancellations within 1 hour of pickup deduct 3 days of rental plus extras; the remainder is refunded within 7 days. Rentals shorter than 3 days are non-refundable.
- No-shows are treated as cancellations within 1 hour of pickup.
- Early returns after handover are not refunded for unused days.
- Cancellations must be sent in writing to rezervasyon@sixt.com.tr or by phone to 0850 2222 000.
Pay-on-arrival reservation terms
Free cancellation is available. Payment may be requested 24 hours before pickup to confirm the reservation; unpaid bookings may be cancelled. Separate SIXT+ rules may apply.

Pre-authorization amounts vary by vehicle group. The table below lists sample vehicles and amounts.

What is included in the price
Listed prices include Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and VAT. CDW covers collision damage subject to a group-dependent deductible paid by the customer. Parking, tyre, glass, and headlight damage are not included.
In the following cases CDW becomes void and resulting damage falls outside insurance cover:
- Allowing someone not named on the contract to drive
- Use outside normal conditions (overheating, wrong fuel, driving on a flat tyre, etc.)
- Traffic violations or driving under alcohol/drugs
- Late reporting of accidents/theft or abandoning the vehicle
- Failure to obtain required reports within 48 hours
- Inability to return original keys after theft
- Keeping the vehicle beyond the rental term without approval
- Tyre, glass, or headlight damage (available as an add-on)
Optional extras not included in the base price
Extras such as Super CDW, Mini/Super/Mega Mini Damage cover, tyre-glass-light cover, one-way fees, refuelling service fee, HGS service fee, extra km packs, additional drivers, and child seats may be charged separately.
Vehicles are handed over with a full tank when possible and should be returned full. Under-fuel returns may incur fuel cost plus a TRY 325 refuelling fee. HGS usage plus a TRY 185/rental service fee may apply. Without an extra-km pack, excess km may be charged at TRY 5/km.
Contract changes, late return, and penalties
Requests to extend, change station/group, or add drivers may be refused operationally or may incur extra fees. Early returns may deduct 20% of the refundable amount as an early-return fee.
A rental day is 24 hours. Unauthorized late hours may be charged at 30% of the daily rate and may void cover. Traffic fines belong to the renter, with a TRY 275/fine service fee if settled by the lessor. Damage handling may add a TRY 475/item service fee.
Reservation and general terms
Online reservations are taken in a secure environment and confirmed by email. Sixt Rent a Car records prevail in case of inconsistency. Shown vehicles are group examples only; a comparable in-group vehicle may be provided based on availability.
Even with a confirmed reservation, handover may be refused where necessary, or cancelled with a refund. Online reservations are valid only if Vehicle Eligibility Terms, Pricing Terms, and Site Terms of Use are read and accepted.
